question on balance resistors for series caps
I’m using 14 350v 390uF caps @ 4000 to 4200 volt dc.
calculated 384k ohm for 4000v and 284k for 4200v
I may run the higher voltage and want to take caution, that’s why I went with 14
now if I make two boards and parallel them together to bring my capacitance up would it cause any problems ?
No, not electrically. The two boards in parallel should appear electrically as a single board. Just watch to try and balance the thermals between the two boards – try not to place them so that one board gets more heat than the other.
thank you
